Background
Published: 06 October 2026
To help ensure a smooth and orderly conduct of the upcoming civil service exam, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has released essential guidelines for over 8,000 examinees scheduled to take the Career Service Examination-Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) on 11 October 2026.
The Commission organized the special run of the CSE-PPT to accommodate 8,132 examinees from the General Santos City testing center whose original exam was postponed following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Region XII last June.
CSC data shows that 7,924 examinees (97.44%) are taking the Professional level exam, while 208 individuals (2.56%) will take the Subprofessional level.
Complete details on exam coverage and reminders are published in CSC Examination Advisory No. 15, s. 2026, available on the official website at www.csc.gov.ph.
Examination rules
Examinees must use the exact examinee number listed on the official Examinee Attendance Sheet. Using a different number or switching seats is strictly against examination rules and Republic Act No. 9416 or the Anti-Cheating Law.
Ensure examinee numbers are completely and correctly shaded. Missing, double, or incomplete shading may cause the scanner to invalidate the answer sheet, even if written in text boxes.
CSC reminds all applicants to ensure they meet all basic eligibility requirements, as results are subject to standard post-verification checks.
Important reminders
To maintain a quiet, fair, and focused testing environment for everyone, examinees are asked to take note of standard room guidelines:
- Prohibited items in testing room — Mobile phones, smartwatches, calculators, cameras, study materials, and loose papers should be kept out of the testing room.
- Scratch work only on designated test materials — Writing on skin, clothing, or personal notes is not allowed.
- Safeguard test integrity — Taking photos, recording videos, sharing exam content on social media, or removing test materials from the room is prohibited.
- Security personnel will conduct routine bag inspections at venue entry points — Weapons and sharp objects are strictly prohibited inside the testing center.
