PASIG CITY — The Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) welcomed a delegation from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) of the National University of Singapore on October 12, 2026, for a meeting to exchange updates on their respective priorities and explore opportunities for continued collaboration.
Reconnecting and exploring collaboration
The meeting provided an opportunity for both institutions to reconnect, discuss emerging challenges, and explore potential areas of collaboration in executive education and public sector capability development.
Discussions included possible approaches to making programme delivery more flexible and responsive to DAP's needs, such as customized programmes in the Philippines or other countries, as well as online and hybrid formats. LKYSPP also presented its Open Enrolment Programmes as another option for DAP officers to pursue professional development alongside participants from different organizations and countries, providing opportunities to exchange perspectives and experiences.
AI, governance and continued partnership
The discussions also touched on emerging capability development needs related to artificial intelligence (AI) and public sector governance, as well as possible avenues for engaging subject matter experts and establishing linkages with organizations that could support DAP's learning and development initiatives.
The meeting builds on the longstanding partnership between DAP and LKYSPP, formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in 2017.
Delegation and courtesy call
The delegation first paid a courtesy call on DAP Acting President and CEO Leocadio S. Sebastian before meeting with DAP officials and representatives from the Capability Building on Innovative Leadership for Legislative Staff (CBILLS) and Adaptive Governance and Innovation for Local Executives (AGILE) program teams.
