Investment priorities
The gateway to the MIMAROPA region — offers a strategic location, abundant natural resources, and a business-friendly provincial government committed to inclusive and sustainable growth. The province is actively seeking partners and investors across priority sectors to boost employment, strengthen infrastructure, and expand regional connectivity.
Opportunities: Resorts, boutique hotels, ecolodges, dive tourism services. Why: Increasing demand for sustainable and luxury tourism, fueled by Oriental Mindoro's rich marine biodiversity and pristine island destinations.
Opportunities: Establishment of Oriental Mindoro IT Park for BPOs, shared service centers, data centers, and startups. Why: Rising demand for ICT-enabled services outside Metro Manila; offers a skilled young workforce, lower overhead costs, and government support for ICT infrastructure.
Opportunities: Development of Oriental Mindoro Transport Stop — a provincial transport terminal and logistics hub integrating bus, van, and cargo operations. Why: Enhances connectivity within the province and to Metro Manila; supports trade, tourism mobility, and efficient goods distribution.
Opportunities: Value-added processing of rice, coconuts (copra, virgin coconut oil), bananas, fish/seafood, cold chain logistics, and agri-supply chains. Why: Strong raw-material base and potential to increase farmer incomes through processing, packaging, and exports.
Opportunities: Seaweed farming, shrimp/prawn culture, marine hatcheries, feed production, and integrated fish farming. Why: High demand for sustainable seafood both domestically and internationally, leveraging the Verde Island Passage brand for premium markets.
Opportunities: Solar farms, wind projects, biomass from agri-waste, and hybrid mini-grids for off-grid barangays. Why: Growing local energy needs and national incentives for clean, renewable energy investments.
