Starting March 16, 2026, the PSHS System will start accepting applicants for lateral admission for prospective available slots for incoming Grades 8 and 9 in the PSHS campuses for SY 2026-2027.

How to apply
Submit your application on or before the deadline to the nearest PSHS campus. The campus registrar issues the Lateral Admission Qualifying Examination permit upon completion and evaluation of all requirements. The permit states the exam schedule and what to bring on exam day.
Criteria for eligibility
To take the Lateral Admission Qualifying Examination (LAQE), you must meet all of the following:
- Finished Grade 7 or Grade 8 outside PSHS — A student who has finished Grade 7 or Grade 8 from a duly recognized school by the Department of Education outside of the PSHS System may be allowed to take the LAQE.
- Filipino citizen — With no pending application as an immigrant to any foreign country.
- Belongs to the upper 5% of their class or has a grade of 85% and above in all subjects
- Character rating of at least Very Satisfactory (VS) or its equivalent
- Must pass the qualifying examination in each of three subjects — Must pass the qualifying examination in Mathematics, Science, and Communication Arts (English).
Important considerations
- Choose only one campus — Change of campus choice will not be entertained after the exam is administered. You will only be considered for admission on the campus of choice.
- Scores will be ranked from highest to lowest — Admission to the PSHS campus will only depend on the number of slots available per campus.
- Examination permit issued by the campus registrar upon completion and evaluation of all requirements — The permit shall clearly state the particulars regarding the schedule of the examination and the things to bring on examination day.
Application requirements
Submit the following on or before the set deadline for filing the application form to the nearest PSHS campus:
- 01Accomplished application form
Includes certification from parents of no pending application for immigration in any foreign country.
- 02Certification from the present school enrolled in
Regarding academic grades and character rating.
- 03Photocopy of the student's report card
Bring the original copy for verification purposes.
- 04Two recent 1 x 1 pictures
