Ceremonial signing between the Local Government of Sogod and the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) on the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) on the municipal-wide free Wi-Fi internet access and the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Rural Impact Sourcing training program held on May 7, 2019, at the Municipal Social Hall.

Pipol Konek free Wi-Fi

Pipol Konek provides free Wi-Fi internet access in public places. This is a partnership between LGU-Sogod and DICT. The LGU provides the infrastructure while the DICT provides the bandwidth.

Level 1 - Instant access · 50 MB/day — Instant access to the internet via your web browser. No registration needed.
Level 2 - Registered access · 100 MB/day data limit — Get internet access by registering your email account to the system.
Level 3 - Registered access · 300 MB/day data limit — Registered access but still under development.

Rural Impact Sourcing training

The Rural Impact Sourcing (RIS) training aims to capacitate interested Sogoranons who want to venture into home-based online jobs or online freelancing.

The Free wifi project is to allow students to have free access on technology esp. in doing research and school related projects. The priority are the public schools and public places in sogod. Meanwhile, this RIS projects aims to provide alternative source of income to those unemployed individuals through online freelancing. they will be trained and assisted on how to market their skills.
