Miagaowanon senior citizen Elena Isediño Fortaleza received a cash incentive amounting to P100,000.00 from the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC).

The assistance was personally awarded by NCSC Regional Director Ann Rapunzel Ganzon on August 6, 2026, as part of the agency's continuing social protection support for qualified senior citizens.

On August 6, 2026, the Municipal Health Office (MHO) successfully launched the Measles-Rubella Supplemental Immunization Activity (MR SIA).

The program targets children aged 6 to 59 months and aims to protect them against measles (tigdas) and rubella (makahiya), both of which are highly contagious vaccine-preventable diseases.

In an interview, Ms. Mary Christine Molejona of the MHO explained that part of the program's implementation involves deploying the MHO vaccination team to various barangays. This strategy is intended to bring immunization services closer to communities and ensure that all eligible children receive the required vaccine.

According to Ms. Molejona, the vaccination schedules will be posted and announced in advance to facilitate proper dissemination of information and encourage parents and guardians to bring their children to the designated vaccination sites.

Seafarer Rommel Cerbo has safely returned home following the immediate repatriation and coordinated assistance provided by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) Regional Office and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Regional Office, in close coordination with Mayor Richard Garin, BM Jo Ann, BM Atty. Rica, PESO Province of Iloilo, and PESO Miagao headed by Mr. John Nocal.

Cerbo was among the seafarers affected by a missile attack in the Black Sea. He was one of the 22 crew members aboard the MV Inase when the vessel was involved in the incident.
