LAMITAN CITY, Basilan — The Ministry of Labor and Employment (MOLE)-Basilan conducted a capacity-building activity in Barangay Buli-Buli on Oct. 19 to help Sumisip local officials strengthen employment services and boost labor welfare.
“This initiative underscores MOLE-BARMM’s dedication to enhancing local capacity, fostering labor welfare, and expanding employment services in partnership with local chief executives across the region,” MOLE-Basilan stated.
Municipal Administrator and Legal Officer Atty. Yara Musa represented Mayor Jul-Adnan Hataman at the event, joined by Officer-In-Charge of a Public Employment Service Office Albert Rojas Mateo and local government staff.
In an Oct. 26 interview, MOLE-Basilan Provincial Head Amna Farrah Alihuddin emphasized that the training aims to better equip local government units throughout the province.
“The Public Employment Service Office serves as a vital bridge connecting jobseekers to opportunities and empowering our local communities,” Alihuddin said. “May this orientation be fruitful, collaborative, and inspiring for us all as we work together toward a more prosperous and fully empowered province.”
The program also focuses on enabling women to become leaders and job creators — a mission designed to uplift families, drive local economic growth, and build resilient communities across Basilan.
