This program deals with the enhancement and revitalization of the sericulture value chain from silkworm germplasm maintenance all the way to silk product development.
The strategic branding as Philippine Silk provides a platform for the management of sericulture innovations on a national scale. This will bring along a toolbox of new approaches such as genomic-assisted breeding, best practices in silkworm rearing, improved business models for more productive silk reeling and filature activities and silk product development.
