City of Malolos — Bulacan Governor Daniel R. Fernando is set to receive the FPJ Memorial Award for Excellence at the 74th Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) Annual Awards Night on October 27, 2026, at the Fiesta Pavilion of The Manila Hotel.
The prestigious recognition honors Fernando's contributions to Philippine cinema as a film actor, acknowledging his role in the country's entertainment industry before he became a prominent public servant.
For the governor, the recognition serves as a distinction for his work in the entertainment industry and his place in the continuing story of Filipino filmmaking.
Prior to his career in government, Fernando established himself in the Philippine film industry through roles that showcased his versatility and passion for storytelling. His journey from the silver screen to public service reflects his diverse contributions to Filipino society.
Paying tribute to the enduring legacy of the late Fernando Poe Jr. — widely known as the King of Philippine Movies — the FPJ Memorial Award for Excellence recognizes individuals whose artistry, dedication, and contributions have helped shape the history and continuing development of Philippine cinema.
